Days after he cracked that being rich in the U.S. meant earning at least $5 million a year, Republican presidential candidate John McCain acknowledged that he wasn't sure how many houses he and his wealthy wife actually own.

- You know, I totally agree with this. If the media would stop talking and writing about her, she wouldn't be front and center all the time. It's like when a kid is bad, even negative attention is good for the kid. But, the media will come back with the comment "people want to know". No, we don't.

- I sympathize with you Pat. I have been there and am still there. Private insurance costs more than two unemployment checks (should you still receive them) and covers almost nothing. I have more medical payment plans set up than I ever had credit cards.

- Are these people serious suggesting that because the unemployment rolls have diminished, people are finding jobs? It is because, largely, of the thousands of 99ers who have not and cannot find work, and the temporary census workers.

- Were you there in the Great Depression? I think our "recession" is beginning to look a lot like it because the hundreds of thousands of 99ers are going to have to stand in welfare lines in order to live. And then, we will have to sell apples on the street. OMG, wait.

- V.Bevis - I am sure your local grocery store has an online service. I am in NJ so there's a good chance our local stores are not where you are. I use it to find and price products and print a list sorted by aisle, and not to have the groceries delivered which is $10 too much for me.

I have to agree with you obamaMama.

Our country is flirting with utter-complete economic destruction. I can't even begin to think how any one human can even want to deal with our country's burgeoning financial doom.

I would not want to be the president today! I have many ideas on how to begin fixing our national problem. Unfortunately, America's big government would never do them. I am further sickened by what is going on. We will be in the throws of a depression very soon. Then we will be a third-world nation.

I want to move to Canada very soon. If all-out war does not threaten our boundaries soon due to this impeccable/unreasonable/ridiculous war we started it will be a miracle.

We wonder why so many countries hate America! I am truly saddened. Horatio Algier must be turning in his grave. The sickest truth to the whole mess is that it's all our governments fault. The whole banking system has to be rewritten.
